Medial tibial stress syndrome in runners and treatment of syndrome
Kučerová, Veronika ; Levínská, Kateřina (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee)
Bibliografický záznam KUČEROVÁ, Veronika. Medial tibial stress syndrome in runners and treatment of syndrome. Prague: Charles University, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2023. Supervisor of work: Mgr. et. Bc. Kateřina Levínská. Abstract The topic of this bachelor thesis is medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS) in runners and its treatment. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part with case studies and a questionnaire. In the theoretical part, the existing knowledge about MTSS is summarized. The practical part is divided into two sections. The first section presents the results of the questionnaire survey, verifying the correlation of the data from the literature review in the theoretical part with a real population sample. The second section contains the case reports of the patients themselves and the treatment proposal. The case report development involved a detailed initial examination, a follow-up therapy, and an exit examination. As part of the initial examination, an anamnesis was taken and a thorough kinesiological analysis was performed. The kinesiological analysis included an aspect examination, measurements of anthropometry, goniometry, navicular drop, weight distribution on the lower limbs, and special examinations such as the...
Injuries from the chronic overload in climbers and prevention options - literature review
Hejtmánková, Veronika ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Author: Veronika Hejtmánková Title: Injuries from the chronic overload in climbers and prevention options - literature review Objective: The aim of this thesis is to determine significant so-called biomechanic risk factors for upper extremity injuries from overload in climbers and prevention options to reduce these so-called biomechanic risk factors for upper extremity injuries from overload in climbers. Methods: This thesis is processed in form of literature review. 7 electronic databases (EBSCO, MEDLINE Complete, PEDro, PubMed, Scopus, SPORTDiscus with FullText, Web of Science) were searched using keywords. From primarily searched 1824 titles were chosen using inclusion and exclusion criteria 13 studies. Results: The most frequently addressed significant so-called biomechanic risk factor for upper extremity injury in climbers is the crimp grip. Other significant so-called biomechanic risk factors for upper extremity injury in climbers are isolated grip and dead point technique in two-handed dyno. Prevention options of these so-called biomechanic risk factors are slope grip, parallel grip, warm up with 100 cyclic climbing loads of upper extremities and in vertical jumps jump higher than is required by dead point technique. Keywords: Climbing, risk factor, overload injury, chronic injury, upper...
Common causes of lower leg pain an Athletes
Pešková, Lucie ; Doubková, Lucie (advisor) ; Truc, Michal (referee)
An exercise-induced leg pain resulting from chronic overloading is a common condition affecting physically active population. This bachelor thesis gives an overview of recent knowledge in differential diagnosis of a chronic lower leg pain. Theoretic aspects deal with three main conditions with the highest incidence, including stress fractures, medial tibial stress syndrome and chronic exertional compartment syndrome. Particular chapters describe the difference in the epidemiology, aetiology, clinical presentation and risk factors. The diagnostic methods and treatment options are mentioned in the next chapter. In addition to theoretic aspects a retrospective study is part of this thesis. The research study the incidence of the lower leg pain among athletes. In contrast to theoretic part we concern about nonspecific lower leg pain in this research. At the same time we research a presence of risk factors and their effect on pathogenesis of the lower leg pain.
The Problematics of Osgood-Schlatter Disease. Subtitle: Focusing on 12-15 Year-Old Football Players

BAKALÁŘSKÉ PRÁCE Jméno, příjmení: Pavel Filip Vedoucí práce: Mgr. Jakub Jeníček Oponent práce: Název bakalářské práce: Problematika M. Osgood-Schlatter Abstrakt bakalářské práce: Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá sledováním výskytu etiologických faktorů u pacientů s diagnostikovaným M. Osgood-Schlatter a průběhu terapie dle sestaveného léčebného postupu. Práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část obsahuje rešeršní zpracování české a zahraniční literatury dané problematiky. V praktické části proběhlo u 40 probandů měření antropometrických parametrů, svalové síly extensorů a flexorů kolenního kloubu pomocí izokinetického dynamometru, svalového zkrácení m. quadriceps femoris, ischiokrurálních svalů, m. iliopsoas, m. tensor fasciae latae a rozsahu pohybu v hlezenním kloubu dle standardizovaných testů. U pěti probandů se v další fázi praktické části objevila diagnóza MOS. Každý z těchto probandů měl výrazně zkrácený m. quadriceps femoris, nepoměr síly mezi flexory a extenzory kolenního kloubu a omezený rozsah pohybu v hlezenním kloubu. Sestavený léčebný postup vedl u 4 z 5 probandů k návratu ke sportovní aktivitě v rozmezí 3-4 týdnů. Klíčová slova: Morbus Osgood-Schlatter, diagnostika, léčba, zranění z přetížení, osteochondróza
